Random Things | Haul

As I do everyday, I go online and do some irrelevant things like spending way too much time on Tumblr, tweet useless bits of information about my life and look at other people’s photos on Instagram. Every now and then I also tend to buy a few things when I’m at it.
So here’s what I’ve ordered recently.

Murder on the Orient Express by Agatha Christie
I wanted to read something of Christie for a long time. It’s probably one of her most famous books and I thought would fit well as a start in the series ofΒ Hercule Poirot.Β If it turns out that I like this book, I’ll definitely pick up more of her books and start from the actual first book.

Yes Please by Amy Poehler
Since watching Parks and Recreation, I’ve become a fan of Amy Poehler. She is extremely funny and has done some amazing work in comedy. I’m looking forward to reading this one as it’ll be something completely else than the books I’ve already read and I hope it’s going to be quite funny.

Orbiting Jupiter by Gary D. Schmidt
I don’t know a lot about this one except that it’s going to be an emotional rollercoaster. I was surprised by how thin this book is, so it probably won’t take me long to read it. I have to admit that I mainly bought this based on the gorgeous cover and some of the positive reviews I’ve read.

Groot
After reading the first volume of the Rocket Raccoon series, I knew I wanted to read this one as well. I’m absolutely sure I’ll enjoy it and try to buy their team-up series as soon as possible. Of course this will rely on a lot of other characters since Groot only ever says the three same words again and again.

Star Wars vol. 1: Skywalker StrikesDSC_0643
As some of you may know, I did aΒ Star Wars-marathon recently where I watched all seven movies in one go. Especially the last one made me fall in love with this franchise and therefore I bought the accompanying comic series, well the first volume of it.

Darth Vader vol. 1: Vader
Kind of a no-brainer after buying the Star Wars one actually. I’m wondering to see how they’ll give Darth Vader a bit more depth through these comics. It’s kind of interesting to have him as the main character and see him interact with new ones.

The Martian
I have already seen this oneΒ in the movie theatre, but I enjoyed it so much that I decided to buy it as well. I’m hoping to re-watch this soon. It’s nominated forΒ Best PictureΒ at the Oscars and I think it deserves that nomination.

Mad Max: Fury Road
Another Oscar-nominated movie, though I haven’t seen this one yet. I’ve seen tons and tons of positive reviews and seen people put it very high on their best movie lists. The trailer looks intriguing and quite astonishing.

Parkitect
Even though this is still in pre-alpha, which means it isn’t actually finished yet, I do like this game. It’s a variation onΒ Rollercoaster Tycoon and it’s fun to play. I like the fact that you can download different things to install in the game, so it’s constantly changing.

Cities: Skylines
I’ve actually found out that this is more difficult than the videos I’ve watched made it seem. Nonetheless, I’m definitely enjoying playing this game and I’m still finding out new things to do. I haven’t yet managed to build an entire functioning city, but I’m hoping that will happen soon.

There you have it, another haul where I’ve probably spend too much money than I should’ve.
I’ll see you later!

      2. Tough one, horror isn’t something I generally like to watch, but I’ve heard a lot of good things about Sinister and It Follows. I also quite liked The Purge: Anarchy recently. Hope this helps 😁

  2. I’ve read like half of the book by Agatha Christie. It’s called “one two buckle my shoes”. Yes,it’s quite a funny name but it’s sort of mystery and crime type. And out of nowhere,I lost the book 😦 that’s what happens when u don’t have a bookshelf :/ and “yes please” seems soo good! Also,is that your bookshelf?
Oh goodness! So sorry for spamming you,it’s quite a long comment :/

    1. Oh that’s a bummer to lose a book πŸ˜• And ‘Yes Please’ looks amazing! I’m very excited to read it soon 😁
That’s actually my nightstand and it’s where I keep my comics and English books. In my actual bookshelf I have a few other books and then my movies and TV series πŸ˜‚

      1. Oh! Well gotta say,I’m kinda jealous πŸ˜€ my mum wouldn’t allow me to have a bookshelf because I have to concentrate on my “studies” (can u imagine??) So now, some of my books are on my bed side table along with my medicines and it literally looks like as if I’m about to have a surgery or something and the other books are just scattered in the drawers… 😦
