Watch These Trailers // vol IV

Now who doesn’t love a good trailer? I know I do.
In Watch These Trailers, I make a list of ten recent trailers that look promising or are worth talking about. Find the trailer I’m talking about by clicking on the title.
This volume has mostly trailers that came out of San Diego Comic Con, except for the last two. The convention took place last weekend and saw the release of many trailers for some of the most anticipated upcoming movies. I have already talked about the Marvel/Netflix series and their new trailers in detail, so they are not included here.

Wonder Woman
This is probably one of the most talked about trailers from the convention. It’s the first time that we’re getting a female-led superhero movie. There’s been a lot of talk about a standalone Black Widow movie, which we still aren’t getting, and the Captain Marvel movie, which is set to premiere in 2019. This means that Wonder Woman is the first one to star in her own movie and from what we can see in this trailer, it’s going to be awesome. It’s set during the first World War and seems to offer some amazing action scenes. The movie sees Gal Gadot reprise her role as the titular character after she already appeared in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. Chris Pine, Robin Wright and Connie Nielson will appear alongside her. She later will again portray the character in Justice League, but more on that later.

Now who doesn’t love a good movie trailer? I know I do.
In Watch These Trailers I list a few trailers which I thought were important or significant enough to be mentioned. Find the trailer I’m talking about by clicking on the title. I’m fully aware that some of these trailers came out a while ago, but they are still worth talking about.

Assassin’s Creed
This looks interesting. I’ve played the game a few times and I really liked it. As far as what they show in the trailer, this looks like it’s fairly good at adapting the idea behind the game. The characters are completely new, but the overall feel and story do seem like they could come from the game. The visuals are stunning and the cast, including Michael Fassbender and Marion Cotillard, is promising.

Moana
The next Disney Princess is almost upon us and she’s called Moana. Moana Waialiki seems like great character that can stand her own. However, I’m afraid that Dwayne Johnson as demi-god Maui will grab the attention as he’s already featured heavily in the trailer. The animation looks stunning and the soundtrack for this movie is something I’m very much looking forward to.

Doctor Strange
Doctor Strange IIAfter Captain America: Civil War, which comes out in a few days here and I’ll be seeing it right away, we are treated with a new and kind of different hero. Doctor Strange, portrayed by Benedict Cumberbatch, is the newest addition to the MCU and the trailer looks awesome. In this movie we are being introduced to the magical side of the MCU and other dimensions. From what we can see in the trailer, the magic is going to be gorgeous visually and I hope we get a lot of it. We are getting an origin story here, but I’m not really against it as Doctor Strange has a different and tragic reason as to why and how he became the titular character. He goes a long way before he actually becomes the Sorcerer Supreme and I think it’s going to be interesting.

The Girl on the Train
I was excited to see this trailer pop up on social media, because I’ve read the book and I was really interested to see how they would adapt it on screen. I was a tiny bit disappointed as some things weren’t as I imagined them whilst reading, but I guess that that will always be the case. I think Emily Blunt is a great chose as the main character and will hopefully still be untrustworthy as she was in the book. That sense of unreliability, with all of the characters really, is quite crucial to the story and I hope that they’ll get that right.

The FounderThe Founder
At first, I raised an eyebrow when I heard someone was making a movie about how McDonald’s started. I thought it was going to be just one big advertisement for the fast-food chain. Though now that I’ve seen the trailer, I really think that they are going to give us an honest and real representation of how the company came to be.
It seems that Michael Keaton will once again be great as the main character and it’s great to see Nick Offerman again. I like how the trailer gets more intense while it progresses.

Now who doesn’t love a good movie trailer? I know I do. Here are ten trailers I thought were important enough to be mentioned. Some of these are very recent, others not so much as I’ve included some of the Super Bowl trailers. Find the trailer I’m talking about by clicking on the title.

Finding Dory VFinding Dory
So a new trailer has dropped for this Finding Nemo-sequel and it looks fantastic. We get to see some of the new characters and some original ones as well. I like the explanation they gave in this trailer for the way she now remembers some things. However, I do fear this is going to be a bit repetitive as we again get to see the turtles, a dentist/doctor’s office and some scary kids.

Captain America: Civil War
I can’t say this enough, but I’m so excited to see this. It’s something I’ve been looking forward to for a long time and now it’s almost here. There’s already was a full trailer released, but this is the Super Bowl-spot. It’s got some amazing chanting in the background and has an epic feel to it.

The Jungle Book VJungle Book
In this trailer we actually get to see some other animals talk besides Scarlett Johansson as Kaa. I’m still not entirely convinced on these voices. Well, the cast is great, but it just doesn’t seem like these voices are coming from the animals. Though this iteration of Bare Necessities is amazing, I could listen to it all day.
