As everyone is trying to build their own cinematic universe, the company that did it first is coming at us with another one. After their immensely successful MCU, Marvel is teaming up with Netflix to extend this universe to television. While this is old news, as the plans were made three years ago and two series have already seen the light of day, yesterday at SDCC we got a look at what’s up ahead and how the expansion will continue.
On the first day of San Diego Comic Con, Marvel and Netflix held a joint panel where they made some announcements and released quite a few trailers.

With the arrival of the new season of Daredevil and already a second season of Jessica Jones announced, I felt like it was the perfect time to finally start watching both these series. I’m reviewing the first seven episodes of the first season below and I’ll then give you my overall thoughts so far. So if you’d rather just read that, skip to the end of the post. I’m well aware that reading this entire post can become tedious, so that’s why I’m giving you a heads-up.
It was my plan to watch the entire season in one go after my exams, but I kind of failed in doing so. I got to around half before I had to go back to school and I’ve been so busy lately that I still haven’t finished the entire season. It also messed up my plans to watch Jessica Jones, but I’m still planning to watch that soon.
Just a few disclaimers before I begin. I’m writing these as I’m watching, so it can occur that I write something and that it, after a couple of episodes, doesn’t make sense anymore. There might also be some slight spoilers along the way, so be warned and make sure you want to read all of it.
