January 1st, 2017.
We’re right at the start of a new year, which is generally a time where we take a look back at what has happened the year before and where we try to figure out what the next twelve months will bring us. I’m not going to delve into clichés like “New Year, New Me” or “I’m going to do better this year”.
I think we can all agree that 2016 wasn’t the best year. A lot has happened, both great as well as devastating things. Every year has its ups and downs, 2016 just had a lot of them. For me personally, it wasn’t the best year either, though I also can’t say that it was an awful year. I experienced some great things too this year. Things I can be proud of, things I can’t look back on without getting a smile on my face and just a lot of small things that make life so much better. So I’d like to put my focus on the joyful events of this year and here are a few of the biggest ones. I’ll probably forget to mention a lot of things, but I’ll give it a try.

It’s the first of July today, which means that we’re halfway through 2016. This year has gone by so fast already. A lot has happened since the start of this year. I went to London, I became 19, I finished my first year at college and so much more.
The reason I’m mentioning this is because the first day of July also means that my blog is nog six months old. I started this blog on January 1st. I thought I’d celebrate this with a short recap and a small Q&A.

Yes I know, my blog has only been around for just over a month and I’m already changing everything about it. I’m a bit of a perfectionist, which means that I’ll never stop trying to improve things. When something isn’t right, I’ll figure out how to make it better or completely start over. That’s the exact same thing that happened with my design.
I liked my old design, it was consistent and not all over the place. I put a lot of effort in keeping it coherent and maintaining the overall look. Though after a month, I started to doubt whether or not it was the right design. I just wasn’t entirely satisfied. That’s when I began looking for alternatives and well one thing led to another so I ended up changing everything about it.

Since this is my very first post you probably won’t know who I am, unless you’ve already read the about page. Anyway, my parents gave me the name Jonas and I am currently 18 years old. Last summer, I graduated from high school and I now go to college. Besides going to school I don’t have anything else to do. I like to occupy my spare time with reading, watching movies and wasting time on the internet. I don’t really do anything sports-related, because well sports. Finally, I would like to mention that I enjoy being around my family and friends and that I love taking photographs.
Now that you now me a little bit better, I think I’ll dedicate a few words to the meaning of this blog. As I’ve mentioned before, I like to read and watch movies (or TV series). That’s what my blog is all about. I would like to hopefully not bore you with my views and opinions on this matter. What you’ll also see appearing on this blog are hauls, reviews, random stories and other things (hence the name of my blog).
That’s all I have to say at this moment.
I hope you’ll enjoy my blog and I’ll see you later!
