It’s the first of July today, which means that we’re halfway through 2016. This year has gone by so fast already. A lot has happened since the start of this year. I went to London, I became 19, I finished my first year at college and so much more.
The reason I’m mentioning this is because the first day of July also means that my blog is nog six months old. I started this blog on January 1st. I thought I’d celebrate this with a short recap and a small Q&A.

I was tagged for another Liebster Award by Bex from Film Music Central. I did one of these quite a while ago and I’ve seen them around very often. You basically get some question that you have to answer as best as you can.
What is your favourite animated Disney film?
I think it’ll have to be The Lion King. It’s a great movie and I recently saw the musical adaptation in London and it was just amazing. Now to be honest, it has been a while since I’ve last seen a Disney animated film. I should really watch those more often because there are a lot of them that I still haven’t seen yet and I’ve forgotten a lot about the ones that I did see.
Which Star Wars film is the best?
I’m going to have to say the latest one, Star Wars: the Force Awakens. I saw all of the movies this year for the first time and the last one blew my mind and surpassed, for me personally, the older ones. Probably because the visual effects have improved immensely since the first one was released.

Let’s just say that I’ve found a new addiction, in the form of the social media site and app called Pinterest. I’m having my exams at the moment and, as every student, I was getting distracted. When looking at all my bookmarks I happened to stumble upon Pinterest. It had been ages since I last logged in to the website and now I’ve been using it everyday since. Be sure to click on the image below and go follow me.
I’ve gone from having 3 boards to now having 30 and I’m still adding more and more. I can’t explain why, but I really enjoy making all these boards with their different subjects and adding stuff to them. It’s fun to watch your boards grow along the way. Of course a lot of my boards are a bit empty at the moment, but that’s mainly since I’ve just added these all at once and I’m sure these will get filled rather quickly.

#1 How do you pick your next book to read?
I honestly just pick whatever I’m in the mood for, whether I want something fantasy or rather something comedic. It depends on how I’m feeling at the time of choosing. I tried setting up a TBR-jar once, but I found myself picking another paper if the one I got wasn’t really what I wanted.
#2 Which book or series do you consider a must-read?
For this one, I’m choosing a series that I haven’t read yet and I feel like I should be reading soon as it’s kind of obligatory. There’s all those fantasy-series like The Lord of the Rings and Harry Potter, but I’m going with basically all the books by Agatha Christie.

In my most recent post I announced that I would be doing a Q&A and here you can find my answers. I liked all of these questions and how diverse they are. Let’s get right to them.
What is your favourite thing about blogging? – Aldana, Perfection in Books
I can’t possibly pick just only one thing. I really like the community, you immediately feel welcome and that’s a great feeling. I also like that I can write about everything that I’m passionate about and get response from people that are equally as excited about these things.
What book would you recommend to us? – Jerrod, It’s Jerrod
I can’t recommend The Martian by Andy Weir enough, but to say something else for a change I’d say The Anniversary Man by R.J. Ellory. I read it some time ago, but I really liked it.
If you could spend the day with any fictional character, who would you spend it with and where would you go? – Emma, Emma The Book Lover
Piscine Patel from Life of Pi. I feel like he could use the company and that he would have some interesting stories to tell. This book was such a joy to read and he was a really great character.

For this post I wanted to take a step back and look at some things from a different perspective. I recently recapped my four months of blogging and I’ve been making some conclusions about my experience thus far. Okay, that seems way more negative than I intended it to be. What I’m trying to say, and what I’ve said a couple of times before, is that I’m constantly searching for ways to improve my blog and how to keep things interesting. By reflecting on what has gone before, I can get a pretty good idea as to what is working and what else I can do.

How is it even possible that I’m already blogging for over four months? That doesn’t seem right to me. The day I published my first post seems like yesterday, though it’s been 122 days since then. 122 days? Well, for you that’s probably not that long, but for me it seems like an eternity. Anyway, these four months have been crazy and I’d like to take a moment and look back at everything that has happened during that time. This also seems like the perfect opportunity to have a little party right here.
